Pets are family, so we treat them like it. We use domestically grown food to nourish your pets with the best.
Wild Bound focuses on harvesting meat from invasive species, mainly Asian Copi. These fish have become so invasive that they now comprise 97% of fish biomass in some areas of the Mississippi River basin. This can lead to food web disruptions and even extinctions. Additionally, using Asian Copi in commercial food helps control their population and benefits the marine ecosystems. (It also provides your pets with high-quality proteins with lower heavy metals found in other fish!)
Asian Copi, previously called Asian Carp, is a term used to describe four species of carp which were brought to the US from Asia they were meant to help maintain aquatic vegetation and serve as aquatic pond animals and food for human consumption. These include bighead, grass, black, and silver carp. However, over time, Asian Copi became an aggressive invasive species that crowd out native fish for food and habitat.
We are proud to announce that our packaging is completely compostable! This means that when you’re done, you can add it to your compost pile and the bag will naturally degrade to enrich your soil. *Please note that the rate of composting depends on the health of your compost pile.
Industrially grown meat is term that describes the mass production of meat for commercial use. The practices utilized in industrially raised meat includes confinement of animals in enclosed spaces, overcrowding, poor breeding practices to maximize meat production times, rampant use of pharmaceuticals, and more. Regenerative farming, however, relies on principles that add more to the planet than they take. These practices include placing less animals on land than industrial farming, allowing for biodiversity, create drought resistant soil, improve nutrition and so much more.
